Hasbro or Takara Tomy: What’s the difference?
Beyblade comes from Japan: Takara Tomy develops the Beys and sells them in Japan and large parts of Asia. Hasbro brings them to Europe, America and many other countries. The good news first: with Beyblade X, everything fits together.

Are the parts compatible?
Yes. Blades, Ratchets and Bits from both manufacturers can be combined freely, and Beys from Hasbro and Takara Tomy can battle each other in any Xtreme Stadium. The launchers work with both, too.
There are still small differences: on Hasbro Beys the Bit often sits tighter in the Ratchet, so they burst less often. Takara Tomy’s stadium and launchers are considered slightly better among tournament players. The plastic and the weight of the parts are practically the same.
Different names
Hasbro usually reverses the names, and sometimes a part gets a completely new name. At the top right of the wiki you can switch between both names at any time.

Not every Bey is released by both
According to the wiki, 106 complete Beys are available from both manufacturers, 110 only from Takara Tomy and 57 only from Hasbro.
- Only from Takara Tomy: lottery prizes, special colors, many Beys from Random Boosters and parts that reach Europe much later or never.
- Only from Hasbro: its own combos of well-known parts, some parts of its own and some collaborations, e.g. with Marvel or Star Wars.
In the Beys tab, the “Version” filter shows what is available from Hasbro and what only in Japan.
When does a Bey come out from Hasbro?
Usually a Bey is released in Japan first and at Hasbro about half a year later, sometimes only after more than a year. A few Beys even come out at Hasbro first. The dates of both manufacturers are in the release calendar.
What should I buy?
- Just for playing: whatever your local stores sell. In Europe and America that is Hasbro, in Japan and large parts of Asia Takara Tomy. It is cheaper than importing and easy to add to.
- For collectors and tournament players: often Takara Tomy. New parts come out there first, the selection is bigger, and the stadium and launchers are considered better.
- Or both: since everything fits together, you can mix Hasbro and Takara Tomy without any problems.
